Sooban Light

Commercial photography for Sooban Light’s fixtures — ceramic bases, crafted shades, across a range of settings.

Photographing a lamp means photographing two things that compete: the object, which needs modelling light from outside, and the light it emits, which is destroyed by exactly that. Every frame here is a negotiation between those two exposures.

The settings vary so the fixtures can be seen both as designed objects and as sources — what they look like, and what a room looks like because of them.
