Profile

I am Mohammad Keshvary, a visual artist and creative director, born in Tehran in 1989. My work is driven by a deep fascination with the power of the image to communicate, connect, and transcend boundaries.

While my professional career has largely focused on developing and executing visual strategies for brands, my core passion lies in using photography and moving images as a means of exploring the world, interpreting experiences, and engaging in a broader cultural dialogue.

As Creative Director of Cafe Shemroon — one of Tehran's most recognized F&B brands — I led brand strategy, content direction, digital platform development and retail expansion across 10+ locations, growing the brand's social community by over 40,000 followers and conceptualizing three retail stores while coordinating a cross-functional team of 200+ members. My commercial portfolio also includes brand identity and campaign work for clients ranging from early-stage startups to international corporations such as Nestlé.

My practice extends into visual storytelling and independent cinema, where contributions to still photography and visual production for award-winning films have been recognized at the Cannes, Locarno and Sundance film festivals. This dual fluency in commercial strategy and artistic production defines my approach — one that consistently bridges the gap between creative ambition and operational execution.

Having built my career in one of the world's most dynamic and resource-constrained markets, I bring a perspective shaped by adaptability, cross-cultural awareness, and the ability to deliver high-impact work within significant limitations — a perspective I now seek to deepen and formalize through advanced academic study.

Website

Commercial

Eighty-one commercial clients between 2012 and 2025, including Nestlé, Snapp, Citadium and Sherwood Woodcraft. Selected work is shown under Work.

Design

Graphic design and art direction are not a separate practice here — in most engagements the two arrived together. Where the brief was content management or art direction, the logotypes, layouts, packaging, campaign artwork and type systems were built in the same hands that shot the images.

The visual system and the images that fill it are designed together, not handed between people. Nothing gets lost in translation between the art direction and the execution, because there is no handover.

Film graphics
Pitch decks and press kits designed for Pre Historic, Haemo-philia, Nayere, YoYo, and a portfolio for Behnam Abedi. In independent cinema these documents are how a film gets financed and programmed; they are design work with a commercial job to do.

Food & beverage

21 of the 81 commercial clients are food and beverage — the largest sector by a wide margin, more than double the next one. On top of that sit two roles: Cafe Shemroon, 4.5 years and 10+ branches, and Gufo Burger. And the training is there too: a Bachelor's in Hotel Management.

That is not a scattering of restaurant jobs. It is a decade inside hospitality from three directions — photographing it, marketing it, and studying it.
